Return Policy
Last updated: 31 July 2026
1. Who this policy applies to
ArterBlade Media Ltd ("ArterBlade", "we", "us") operates arterblade.com as an advertising and review website. We do not sell, warehouse, dispatch or invoice physical products. When you click a promotional link on this website you are taken to the website of an independent retailer or merchant, and any purchase contract is formed directly between you and that retailer.
This policy explains (a) how returns are generally handled by the retailers we promote, (b) the statutory rights you hold as a UK consumer regardless of any retailer policy, and (c) how ArterBlade will help if something goes wrong. Where a retailer's own published terms are more generous than the minimum described here, those terms apply.
2. Your statutory cancellation right (14 days)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you buy at a distance (online or by telephone) as a consumer in the United Kingdom you generally have 14 calendar days from the day you (or someone you nominate) physically receive the goods to cancel the order for any reason, without giving a justification.
Once you have told the retailer you are cancelling, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back, and the retailer must refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or of receiving proof of postage, whichever is earlier). The refund must include the standard outbound delivery cost, though the retailer may refund only the cost of its cheapest standard delivery option if you chose an upgraded service.
You may handle and inspect the goods as you would in a shop. If you handle them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, the retailer may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.
3. The 30-day satisfaction guarantee offered by the retailer
The retailer promoted on this website advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee that runs alongside — and does not replace — your statutory rights. In practice this means you may return the product within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the purchase price, subject to the retailer's conditions.
- Contact the retailer's customer service before returning anything to obtain a returns authorisation number.
- Include all free gifts, spray tips, holders and accessories supplied with the order.
- Pack the item so it arrives undamaged; you are responsible for the goods until they reach the retailer.
- Keep your proof of postage until the refund has been received.
Unless the goods are faulty, misdescribed or not as ordered, the cost of return postage is usually payable by you. Original shipping charges, insurance and any handling fees may be non-refundable under a voluntary guarantee (but not where you exercise your statutory cancellation right — see section 2).
4. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not:
- Within 30 days of delivery you have a short-term right to reject the goods and obtain a full refund.
- Between 30 days and 6 months the retailer has one opportunity to repair or replace the goods; if that fails you can claim a refund, which may be reduced to reflect use.
- After 6 months you may still have a claim, but you may be asked to show that the fault was present at delivery.
Where goods arrive damaged in transit, photograph the packaging and the item before disposing of anything and report the damage to the retailer promptly. Return postage for faulty goods is payable by the retailer.
5. Items that may be excluded
The statutory cancellation right does not apply to certain categories, including goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, sealed goods unsealed after delivery that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons, and goods that become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery. Products damaged through misuse, modification, commercial use, freezing damage, or use with pressures outside the manufacturer's stated range are also normally excluded from voluntary guarantees.
6. How to start a return
- Find your order confirmation email — it names the selling company and its support address.
- Contact that support address, quoting your order number and the reason for return.
- Request a returns authorisation and the correct return address before posting anything.
- Send the goods using a tracked service and retain the receipt.
You may use, but do not have to use, the model cancellation form set out in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. A plain email or letter clearly stating your decision to cancel is sufficient.
7. Refund timing and method
Refunds are made to the original payment method. Card refunds typically clear within 3–10 working days after the retailer processes them, depending on your bank. If a refund has not appeared after 14 days from the retailer confirming it, contact your card issuer and, in parallel, the retailer.
8. If you cannot reach the retailer
ArterBlade cannot process refunds, issue replacements or access retailer order systems. However, if you have tried to contact a retailer we have promoted and received no response within 10 working days, email us at [email protected] with your order number and a summary. We will pass your complaint to our advertising contact for that merchant and, where the pattern continues, we will withdraw the promotion from this website.
9. Chargebacks and alternative dispute resolution
If a retailer refuses a valid refund you may be able to use chargeback (debit cards) or a Section 75 claim under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (credit card purchases between £100 and £30,000). You can also seek advice from Citizens Advice consumer service on 0808 223 1133 or report a trader to Trading Standards.
