Cookie Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels, tags and SDKs — work in comparable ways. This policy covers all of them and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. Our consent approach

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and the UK GDPR, we only set non-essential cookies after you have given consent. On your first visit a banner offers "Accept all" and "Essential only" with equal prominence. Until you choose, only strictly necessary technologies operate. Your choice is stored locally on your device so we do not have to ask again.

3. Categories we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the website to function and to remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off and do not require consent.

Analytics / performance

Help us understand which sections readers reach, how long they stay and where they leave, in aggregate. Set only with consent.

Advertising / attribution

Let advertising networks and affiliate platforms connect your visit to the campaign that brought you here and to any resulting purchase, and help control how often you see the same advertisement. Set only with consent.

We do not use cookies to build sensitive profiles, and we do not sell personal data to data brokers.

Names used by third-party networks may change as those providers update their platforms; the categories and purposes above remain accurate.

5. Third-party providers

Where consent is given, cookies may be set by hosting and CDN providers, analytics providers, native advertising networks (for example Outbrain or Taboola), social advertising platforms and affiliate tracking platforms. Those providers act as independent controllers or as our processors depending on the service, and their own notices explain their processing.

6. Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies and site data for arterblade.com in your browser settings; the banner will then reappear so you can choose again. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge under Settings → Privacy, or browse in a private window. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.

Most browsers also support "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals; where a recognised opt-out signal is received we do not set advertising cookies.
